St Martin de Porres Gala Dinner

Overview

St Martins Young Adults is a group of young men and women from St Martins De Porres Church in

Orlando West - Soweto, who strive to make a positive impact in people’s lives and being of service to

the community. This is our second year of hosting a gala dinner and we hope to change more lives.

We have identified several scholars from different primary schools and have decided to help them

with school uniforms and study material for the year commencing 2013. On the 1st of December we

will be hosting approximately one hundred individuals at our annual gala dinner to fundraise

towards this cause.

The Event

Date: Saturday, 1st December, 2012

Location: St Martins de Porres, 9306 Ngobese Street

Cost: R400 a couple / R250 an individual

Our vision is as follows:

A spiritual group with the objective and aim of commitment towards it’s synergy efforts, as well as

sharing our faith, hopes, dreams, fears and gifts we will discover how best to be of service to one

another and to the wider community. In keeping with the catholic character of our movement, we

will be people who pray together and individually promoting love and care to one another at all

times.

Our Aims and Objectives

Be role models to the youth and young people in the church spiritually and in the

community

Actively promote the healthy intellectual, emotional and spiritual development of its

members by offering them suitable programs and activities.

Form responsible young adults who are concerned about the welfare of their community

and nation.

Marketing plan: We have created a media plan that will generate interest in and awareness of the

gala while specifically targeting our key markets in the form of posters, invites and word of mouth.

These elements will help build excitement and hype around the event

What help is needed?

Finances: The estimated cost for hosting the gala is R 30, 000 this includes food, décor and

the marketing material used. We would appreciate any donations towards the financing of

the gala

Product: We would like help with getting as much school uniforms (jersey, blazer, long and

short sleeve shirts, grey trousers and skirts, socks {knee highs and anklets} white and grey)

and stationery.
