CheeseGuardians
CheeseGuardians are the executive management team that co-orinate all of Cheesekids' events and activities. All Guardians are professionals who volunteer their services to Cheesekids, to ensure it runs effectively.
CheeseGuardian Alumni Gontse "Kwaita-Cheese" explains: "before CheeseGuardians came together only one person was accountable for organising an event from start to finish. Even though regular Cheesekids can come to some events and skip others, this forum is constantly running to ensure Cheesekids runs smoothly throughout the year..." |
All Guardians are volunteers and are responsible for managing the membership database, keeping track of beneficiaries, finding sponsorship, site visits and reconnaissance, co-ordinating bills of materials, communications, raising and disbursing funds, as well as conceiving future events and activities.
Gontse "Kwaita Cheese" continues: "Guardians dedicate their valuable time and energy without pay or profit to a cause they love and cherish. They all came as members of Cheesekids but wanted more, had a yearning to improve processes and that is what led them to become Guardians of this movement".
Becoming a Guardian
Anyone can become a Guardian. As long as they are a Cheesekid i.e. they have attended at least one Cheesekid event. All one has to do is volunteer and be prepared to serve for least a year enduring long hours, late nights but ultimately lots of fun and fulfilment.
Lastly, one becomes an automatic Guardian by forming their own Chapter of Cheesekids in their area.
