Good day good folks,

With much further ado, here is the skinny on how you can DO Great Things for 67 minutes with us this coming Sunday 17th July 2011

"So, where do we meet guys?!"

In Johannesburg, our Rally Point is Innesfree Park, Katherine Street, Sandton

In Cape Town we go to MutualPark, Jan Smuts Street, Pinelands

In Durban we will be at Gateway Shopping Centre, Umhlanga, Parking A

"And what happens then?"

You get on a shuttle to do one (or more) of these activities for exactly 67 minutes at a project site that we've selected before returning to the Rally Point. These are the activities:

 Cape Town
Durban
Johannesburg
*cleaning & washing clothes
* refurbishing a playground
* painting
* gardening
* scraping paint
*cooking

* plastering a toilet
*cooking
*gardening
*reading to children
Please bring a book to leave behind
(all at the same venue)
*beautifying schools
*cleaning homes & washing clothes
*building & painting homes
*gardening
*soup cooking
*playing with kids from various orphanages
*vocational guidance
* a soccer clinic
*SANBS donation drive

"What is the programme on the Day?"

That's up to you. You can come at any time between 8:30am and 4:30pm (Please note we close all activities at 4:30pm so you're best bet is to get there before 3pm). There will be a shuttle every 2hours from 9am (11am, 1pm, 3pm) in Cape Town and Durban. In Johannesburg, you can catch a shuttle at least ever 30 minutes.

In the City of Jo'burg, you may come after that to enjoy the sounds of our Reward Concert which features Roger, Ihashi Elimhlope, the Muffinz, Zebra & Girrafe, Josi Fields, Khuli Chana, AKA, Tidal Wave, HHP & Sipho Hotsticks! How much is the concert? Free if you've registered and volunteered with us, R 67 if you're just coming to join the fun after the day's activities...

"Why Don't we have a programme or concert in our Area?

In a phrase... Baby Steps. We'll get there soon enough. *knocks on wood*

"Do we need to bring anything?"

sure. your friends. And? Your family. And? Anything else you'd like to bring to donate. We have over 20 beneficiary organizations identified that could do with your thought. However, unless specifically asked (Durban please bring a book or two!) you don't need to bring anything more than your sunny disposition.

Well, actually... you do need to bring something. An indemnity form. Signed. If you don't bring it, you can still fill one in when you get to the registration booth at the Rally Point. But that could be a long story so best to come prepared. You'll find it here for adults. And here for minors.

 "Where can I get a Mandela Day T-shirt?"

 Well, just show up (if you've registered) and you'll get a tee. Gratis. Thank you to our partners Old Mutual and 5FM. Say Cheese!

"And what of refreshments?"

All Rally Points are near eateries and sites present an excellent opportunity to sample local cuisine (amagwinya or vetkoeks are always a favourite in winter.

"Ok, So what else is there to remember?"

If this is your first Cheesekids experience, then expect to meet people like you, have a fun time and safely get to experience how rewarding 67 minutes can be.

We're so excited and can hardly wait to share this with you...

We'd like to get you and all your folks as excited by putting up our CKMD11 Avatar on your Facebook, Twitter and BBM profiles. Let's make this ethos trend!

If you're not able to join us this year, then we wish you well in ways to spend 67 minutes meaningfully in your way or area... Tomorrow we give info on other initiatives near you.

Love, Madiba & Mo' Cheese
Get your friends and family to join you...
