The Greening of Isaac Morrison High, a Memoirs of a Sowetan project.

Memoirs of a Sowetan is a social connection of like-minded artists coming together under the roof of Roots Restaurant & Gallery, on Vilakazi Street, to share the sounds of true music, art, charity, honest films, workshops and heart-wrenching talks.

Cause of all the great work you guys have been doing across the
country, in particular giving hope to an entire generation, we're partnering up with Memoirs of a Sowetan and hitting to Morris Isaacson High School (on Vilakazi road, Soweto) where the last generation to really inspire us found their calling. 

This was the school from whence the infamous march against new Bantu Education policies sprang up that killed Hector Pietersen amongst others and sparked unrest such as the country had never seen.

So, how do we wanna show appreciation for the role this historical school played ? By giving the students a place to play, learn, relax and just be...erm... normal. normal kids.

The current school yard has overgrown grass and rubbish. And we plan on transforming
it into a proper garden. Join us. For the Kids. And our folks. But mostly for ourselves.
