“They were There”

They stood in two-single-filelines bursting at the seams with excitement and anxiously waiting to be seatedin the Calabash. They were moments away from enjoying a world-class experience ina world-class stadium, well before the world and Phillip flooded our boarders, airports, gautrains, streets, and beautiful stadiums. The kids were amongst74,000+ spectators who came to watch the NedBank Cup Final at Soccer City onthe 22th of May 2010.

Cheesekids for Humanity, throughthe generosity of its members, sponsored 30 kids to attend the Nedbank CupFinal.  The generosity ofCheesekids members allowed us to give some of the young girls and boys from TheLusito Upliftment Program and opportunity to say, “I was there” before itbecame a national chat-phrase for soccer spectatorship. Your generosity allowedkids, who otherwise would have had little to no opportunity, to be part of thefirst record braking attendance at Soccer City.

So, in short we say thank you. Thankyou for supporting Cheesekids for Humanity and helping us put smiles on 30 littlefaces.
