Who we are
Cheesekids Guardians came together as a way to manage Cheesekids events in a more effective way where not only one person is accountable for organising an event from start to finish which had been the norm. Cheesekids Guardian is thus the engine that keeps the Cheesekid vehicle going. Even though the regular Cheesekids come to some events and skip others, this forum is the one constant. What will ensure Cheesekids runs smoothly beyond the years of its members.
How it works
Although roles are defined within the forum, every Guardian is allowed the opportunity to conceptualise, implement and run an event. The way in which this would ordinarily occur is that a Guardian would come up with an idea of an event and they would get voluntary support from the rest of the Guardians. One might do Logistics, another Marketing and so forth. Ultimately the goal is to make a success of every event with as little evident disorganisation as possible.
Why it works
Cheesekids Guardians consists of people with different skills who when they come together bring about a good balance. The Guardians are professionals in their own right from different sectors and we boast a few experts on various subjects. When an idea is brought to the fore it can be looked at critically and adapted into what would work best for Cheesekids. These simple ideas lead to events such as DanceOFF, SingOFF whose popularity has exceeded expectations.
What about Cheesekids Members
Although the Guardians are the "management" some ideas are taken from Cheesekids members themselves. For instance there was a constant request from Cheesekids Members to use their professional skills to make a difference and hence the Cheesekid Toolkit was formulated and will launch soon. Cheesekids is participatory and no idea goes without due attention.
We hope to improve the communication between Cheesekids and Cheese Guardians through surverys that will probe the satisfaction with past events, ideas that might be explored etc.
Overall Cheesekids Guardians dedicate their valuable time and energy without profit to a cause they love and cherish. They all came as members of Cheesekids but wanted more, had a yearning to improve processes and that is what led them to become Guardians of this movement.
