Take nothing for granted, you are blessed

As South Africans and as people generally, we always seem to be complaining about things that we want or do not have but I would like to say to all, take nothing for granted because you are abundantly blessed.

I was one of the field-workers taking part in the Census 2011 and going around to all the different households with the questionairres and without revealing any particular households information, generally all the households I visited made me feel blessed for all I still have.The are people out there that cannot afford electricity, old pensioners that are struggling to meet their basic needs, youth without parents at home as they have passed-on, old people that are struggling with self-care, households so poverty stricken that it is difficult to imagine how they survive and many other issues which affected households that i would run out of space to list them all.

So that is why I would like to encourage us all to be thank-full for all we have from now onwards. Appreciate the special people that are still in your life, appreciate the shelter over your head, appreciate the clothes that you have, the salary that you earn which you see as being little and the food you get to put in your stomach before you sleep every night. All the simple things or small things we have, we need to appreciate because the is somebody out there yearning for that warm bed you sleeping on and the warm meal you have at night.

 First, let us appreciate all the blessings we have in our lives and we will surely be showered with many more blessings!
