Durban Tour
Hi everyone!!
Now that the 94.7 is over, its time for the real cycle challenge.
On Sunday the 28th, together with a few KDL pupils, i will be cycling from JOHANNESBURG to DURBAN!!!
...Yes you read right JHB to DBN.
We are doing the ride not only because we are crazy and fitness freaks, but to raise funds to help out Diepsloot who have started a cycling 'acedemy' and are in desperate need to get bikes and basically to keep the project alive.
For those of you who do not know what Diepsloot is, it is a poverty striken township north of Johannesburg. There are a lot of kids who are keen on taking cycling as a sport, but as we are all aware cycling is expensive and they just cannot afford it. However, the project has shown that there are a lot of talented youngsters there and if afforded the opportunity might become great. Infact there are already a few kids there who are a part of this project that have won or placed high at some junior mountain biking events.
I believe that we can all do our part in helping with the future of cycling in S.A and more importantly touching lives and inspiring them to become great and reach for something and if that is through cycling so be it.
So what does this have to do wth you.
Part of our tour is to raise funds through sponsorship. the sponsorship will work as follows:
If you would like to sponsor me, you will choose how much, be it1c, 10c or R20 per kilometer, it is your choice.
At the end of the cycle race you will then pay the amount per kilometer that i managed to cycle.
Yes i will cycle every single Km, so you are in for about 530km
you will then be required to deposit money into the schools account and as I said earlier, all proceeds will go to Diepsloot.
If you do not want to sponsor per kilometer but would just like to donate an amount towards the project that is also ok.
For those of you that would like to sponsor or donate please inbox me and i will give you the schools banking details.
Thanking you all in advance for your kind generosity
Regards
Glen Ngema
